Chicot State Park is also home to the Louisiana State Arboretum, and anglers commonly catch bass, crappie, and sunfish from the fishing pier near the campground. - Valentine Lake North Campground - 616 Old Valentine Rd, Elmer, LA 71424
Part of a rustic recreation complex surrounding Valentine Lake, the Valentine Lake North Campground is a secluded camping spot within Kisatchie National Forest. The campground features 14 campsites that are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Though the sites are open to both tent and RV camping, no hookups are provided, making it a great place for primitive camping and getting away from the crowds.
