    Located within Alexander State Forest, Indian Creek Recreation Area is a popular place for camping just outside of Alexandria. The campground is shady and spacious, with various campsites available, ranging from primitive tent sites to full hookup RV sites. Waterfront sites and premium pull-through campsites are also available.   • Flagon Creek RV Park - 5540 Upper Donahue Ferry Rd, Pineville, LA 71360
    Offering a luxurious camping experience with modern amenities, the Flagon Creek RV Park is open to any length of stay but primarily caters to long-term campers. Monthly and yearly rates are available. Just a few minutes from many Alexandria open houses, the RV Park includes large, spacious RV sites with campfire pits, picnic tables, water hoses, and 20, 30, and 50-amp hookups for rigs of all sizes. Tall trees shade the whole area, and stocked fishing ponds are available to guests. 

  • Cotile Recreation Area - 75 Cotile Lake Rd, Boyce, LA 71409
    Rapides Parish operates a public park and campground on the shores of Cotile Lake, a manmade lake just a few minutes drive from Alexandria. Cotile Lake Recreation Area offers primitive tent camping and RV campsites with electric and sewer hookups. This quiet campground is popular among campers and offers fishing, boating, and swimming access to the nearby lake.

  • Hidden Treasure RV Resort - 8598 LA-1200, Boyce, LA 71409
    Nightly, weekly, and monthly rates are available at Hidden Treasure RV Resort, making it a great option whether you're a seasonal visitor or just passing through for the night. This 11-acre resort features 24 large RV sites that are spaced far enough apart that privacy and solitude are ensured for all. Full hookups, including 30/50-amp electricity, are available at each site. The whole area is shady and quiet, and campers have access to a private boat launch and lakeside picnic area.

  • Chicot State Park - 3469 Chicot Park Rd, Ville Platte, LA 70586
    Roughly a 45-minute drive south of Alexandria, Chicot State Park is one of the largest state parks in Central Louisiana, spanning 6,400 acres of rolling, wooded hills and lush wetlands. The park overlooks the shoreline of Lake Chicot, and many of its 198 electric tent/RV campsites are just footsteps away from the water. Chicot State Park is also home to the Louisiana State Arboretum, and anglers commonly catch bass, crappie, and sunfish from the fishing pier near the campground.

  • Valentine Lake North Campground - 616 Old Valentine Rd, Elmer, LA 71424
    Part of a rustic recreation complex surrounding Valentine Lake, the Valentine Lake North Campground is a secluded camping spot within Kisatchie National Forest. The campground features 14 campsites that are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Though the sites are open to both tent and RV camping, no hookups are provided, making it a great place for primitive camping and getting away from the crowds.
